This recipe is first time preparation, having lots of long neck butternut squash in my garden, I thought to prepare a casserole with them because there very fresh I didn’t peel the skin,you can use any kind of zucchini or even eggplants.
The meat is mixed with parsley,onion and spices arranged in pan side by side with squash pieces; first broiled, then topped with diced tomatoes, garlic,onion hot pepper pieces and baked in oven turned out very tasty.Serve hot or as is or with rice pilaf.Enjoy

Ingredients:
1-1/2 kg. lean ground beef meat
1-1/2 kg. long neck butternut squash ( I didn’t peel the skin because there were very fresh if you see the skin is thick peel them, regular zucchini keep as is.
1/4 cup parsley leaves,washed and drained
1 large onion roughly cut the onion into few pieces
1/2 teaspoon all spice
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon Aleppo Dakka mixed spices

Ingredients for Aleppo Dakka: (use only 1 teaspoon)
(1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper)
(1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon)
(1/8 teaspoon ground cardamon)
(1/8 teaspoon ground cloves)
(1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg)

1 tablespoon coarse sea salt +1/2 teaspoon to add over diced tomatoes.
2 tablespoons olive oil to brush over uncooked meat and zucchini

Topping:
5 small onions cut each into four
few pieces of green and red hot peppers you can use sweet peppers too
8 whole peeled garlic cloves (each clove halved)
1 can 796ml.diced tomatoes with there juice

Preparation:
1.In hand blender container add parsley leaves,1 large onion pieces,and all above mentioned spices with 1 tablespoon salt blend together until the mixture finely chopped (about few minutes)
2.In a large bowl add ground meat pour blended mixture and mix well .
3.Cut the squash into 3 cm. thick round shape pieces then cut each into half if you use regular zucchini slice round.
4.In a large deep pan, arrange side by side meat pieces between zucchini slices.
5.Brush the top with olive oil and broil.
6.Take out the pan from oven, add diced tomatoes with there juice,sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon salt over tomatoes,arrange onion pieces,hot red, green peppers,halved garlic cloves around and between meat and squashes put back in oven and broil again until onions peppers slightly browned.
7.Preheat oven 375 degrees bake uncovered about 1 hour 15 minutes until the tomato liquid slightly evaporated.
Serve hot .
