Cherfane, Tawil & Co. (CTC), Samsung’s exclusive agent and distributor in Lebanon, recently celebrated the company’s 40th Anniversary in an unforgettably festive evening that gathered Members of Parliament, Cabinet Ministers, the Ambassador of Korea to Lebanon, the President of Samsung Electronics Levant, the Country Manager of Samsung Electronics Lebanon, CTC’s top management, key media and influencer figures, and CTC and Samsung employees, as well as CTC’s commercial partners, friends, and family.
With the TV celebrity Ms. Carla Haddad playing Master of Ceremony, she first introduced Mr. Eddy Cherfan, CEO of CTC, who highlighted that the 40th anniversary was not CTC’s proper but rather that of “a very special partnership—that of Samsung Electronics with CTC since 1979, a partnership which is all about Innovation, Inspiration, Passion, Integrity, Leadership, Quality, Teamwork, and Collaboration.” He continued to say that the celebration was about a dream come true– “The dream of taking CTC to the list of some of the best companies in the country and making it renowned for selling high quality products, delivering quality services, and committing to hard work, thus consistently earning No.1 leadership in TVs, washing machines, refrigerators, and mobile phones.”
With Mr. Eddy Cherfan inviting Mr. Changsup Lee, President of Samsung Electronics Levant (SELV), to take the floor, Mr. Lee opened by extending his and SELV’s “best wishes for continued success and strong partnership together.” He went on to say that he has been dealing with CTC for 29 years. He further added that this year marked 50 years of Samsung Electronics being in existence “with a firm commitment to provide the global consumer with connected living through the different products and services we offer.”
On the Samsung-CTC partnership, Mr. Lee spoke of them both having “consistently set highly effective standards, primarily created by providing customers with best-in-class products and services meeting the highest standards of user-friendly and lifestyle aspects,” and that at these two milestones of the two companies’ lives, “the Lebanese market will witness the launch of the QLED 8K to mark a new era of picture quality, alongside with the unpacking we had for the Samsung Galaxy S10 series with 10 innovations added for the first time in a smartphone, including the new Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner, the first advanced on-screen fingerprint-scanning method on a smartphone to receive a global certification.”
In closing, Mr. Lee affirmed “Samsung’s commitment to the Lebanese market in keeping our innovation introduced to the progressive Lebanese consumer” while looking forward for more years of collaboration with CTC.
Mr. Lee then invited Mr. Antoine Cherfan, Chairman of CTC, to the stage and remitted him a trophy commemorating both CTC’s 40th anniversary and its long-term partnership with Samsung.
Together with honoring the man who started CTC, a video trailer on the theme of CTC’s 40th anniversary was then played, followed by music and dinner.
Time for dessert came, and Ms. Haddad invited all key Samsung and CTC players to the stage to partake in cutting the 40th anniversary cake. However, that was not to be all that was on the menu: another large cake and a dedicated video for celebrating Mr. Antoine Cherfan’s 80th birthday added a very pleasant surprise to the festivities which later extended with entertainment through the night.
