Beirut hosted five of Hollywood’s most famous comedy stars, who first visited Beirut from California to perform stand-up comedy shows during three nights on 27-28-29 April, 2018 at St Georges Yacht Club. Each night included two shows from The Hollywood Pop-Up Comedy Club at 8pm and 10pm and an After Party gathered the audience with the stars of the comedy. The event was organized by producers Ron Senkowski and Samira Qawas from Symply Entertainment. The stars included Harland Williams, Jamie Kennedy, Jade Catta-Preta, Skyler Stone, Justin Rupple, who gave a two-hour performance to highlight their skills in Western social traditions and address coincidences and events in their personal and community diaries and with family and friends. They also were touched upon their impression of Lebanon and life in it, especially the hospitality, the food they enjoyed and the lifestyle they encountered. The comedy was hosted by Australian-Lebanese comedian Anthony Salameh, Virgin Radio’s star. The shows were attended by a distinguished group of media, social, artistic, cultural and university students. Starring Harland Williams, Jamie Kennedy, Jade Catta-Preta, Skyler Stone, Justin Rupple will return to America after a tour in several countries.
Anthony Salame:
From the UK to Lebanon, Canada, Singapore, Holland & New Zealand, Salame’s fresh take on urban living has proven to be universally hilarious. The King of Urban Comedy has sold out shows at international comedy festivals and at all of Australia’s top comedy venues. Anthony has shared the stage with Comedy legends, Pablo Francisco, Jimmy Carr, Bill Burr, Jeff Ross, Jo Koy and many more. His edgy style and hip-hop flair have taken him into the musical arena as comic support for LL Cool J, De La Soul and Bobby Brown. Salame also appeared on the hit Australian TV series Fat Pizza and Legally Brown. In 2012, Anthony’s DVD release Is This Thing On? was nominated for the prestigious ARIA awards in the Best Comedy category.
Anthony is currently based in Beirut, Lebanon where he co hosts Virgin Radio Morning Crew, seven months after the show was launched in May 2013 the show was ranked the number one show in Lebanon.

Harland Williams:
Comedian and actor Harland Williams is known the world over for his hilarious movie roles and outlandish stand-up and sketch comedy routines. Williams has starred in numerous unforgettable roles such as the pee-drinking cop in “Dumb and Dumber”, the loveable horse-killing stoner, Kenny in “Half Baked”, the hitchhiking serial killer in “There’s Something About Mary”, the silent motorcycle stud Slater, in “Superstar”. Williams is also seen regularly on “Late Night with David Letterman,” “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brian.” He has done solo stand-up comedy specials for HBO, Comedy Central, CTV, and CBC. In addition to his on-screen roles, Williams has provided voices for several animated productions including “Robots” and is also an accomplished author and illustrator of his own series of children’s books involving a little brontosaurus named Lickety Split.
Jamie Kennedy:
He became interested in acting at the age of 15, and appeared in a movie for the first time at age 19, as an extra in Dead Poets Society (1989). His first role in a movie was as Brad in the film Road to Flin Flon (2000), which was filmed in the early 1990s but was not released until spring 2000. He is most popular for playing the role of the movie buff, geeky Randy Meeks, in Scream (1996), Scream 2 (1997), and Scream 3 (2000). In 1998, he won a Blockbuster Award for Best Supporting Actor in a horror movie for his role as Randy Meeks in Scream 2 (1997).
Jade Catta-Pretta:
Is a brazilian born comic and actress working in Los Angeles and New York. She performs all over the country and features for bill burr, kevin nealon and bobby lee. She was a cast member on mtv’s Girl Code, often appears on comedy central’s @midnight and regularly hosts on vh1. Other notable credits include recurring roles on Californication, mtv’s Punk’d and guest stars on modern family, the Jim Gaffigan show, angel from hell, 2 broke girls and Sullivan & son. She is also known for starring in Manhattan Love Story and Daddy Knows Best.
Skyler Stone:
His first movie role was in The Rules of Attraction, playing a speed freak named Quinlivan in a scene that ended up cut from the film. He played Scarlett Johansson’s character’s husband in the flashback scenes for The Island, and a cook in Waiting….Stone was cast in Christopher Guest’s For Your Consideration as a trashy radio morning show host after Guest saw the “Cancun Coma” episode of Con. He appeared in the CSI: NY episode “Youngblood.” Stone was a contestant on Dog Eat Dog and Whammy! In 2010 he appeared in the CBS sitcom Rules of Engagement. Stone is a regular at the Laugh Factory, The Improv, and The Comedy Store, in Hollywood, California. He made his first national stand-up appearance on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on January 3, 2007.
Justin Rupple:
Satisfying his need to be behind the mic, he started attempting stand-up comedy in early 2006 at the legendary, but now defunct, Giggles Comedy Club in Seattle. This year, he shot a new feature length foreign film “Operation Chromite” starring Liam Neeson to be released this summer. Then his luck continued as Dana Carvey and company tapped him to compete on the new comedic impression game show “First Impressions” on The USA Network Premiering May 10th. His episode is scheduled to premiere May 24th at 10:30pm.
