Pickled turnips /Delicious/
Homemade crunchy,fresh tasting, turnip pickles .
We do find pickled turnips in stores, the taste is good, but not like homemade ones, you should try one day to see the difference.Enjoy.
Ingredients:
1 kilo fresh turnips
3 small beets
2-1/2 cups white regular vinegar
2-1/2 cups cold water
3 tablespoons kosher salt

Preparation:
1.Wash turnips very well, peel and slice each piece into 2 cm.round cuts 1cm. thickness, if there big rounds divide into half.
2.In a large plastic container add sliced turnips fill with cold water and soak them uncovered for 12 hours.
3.Dissolve water with salt add vinegar mix very well .
4.Wash and peel beets cut each into 4 pieces.
5.In a clean glass jars arrange sliced soaked turnips half way add few pieces of beets, add more turnips and beets fill to the top,add vinegar solution until covers all the turnips,cover with the jar lid keep in cool dark place untouched for 1 week.
6.After opening the jars ,keep them in a cold room or in a refrigerator.
Serve with any favorite dish
