Muhammara
I prepared this delicious Aleppo Muhammara appetizer,to take with me to pre-Christmas party.
Tasty appetizer,made with ground walnuts,olive-oil, breadcrumbs, homemade hot red pepper paste,lemon and pomegranate molasses. This is my own recipe.Enjoy

Ingredients:
8 medium-large frozen or fresh (I used frozen) semi- hot red peppers, wash cut each pepper into half, discard the seeds and white parts.(8 generous tablespoons blended red pepper paste)
1-1/2 cups finely chopped walnuts
1/2 cup of olive oil
1/2 cup of regular plain breadcrumbs
3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice (1 lemon)
1 tablespoon Pomegranate Molasses (dbs Reman)
2 teaspoons paprika
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon coarse sea salt salt
1 teaspoon Armenian hot red pepper flakes or 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Garnish
1/2 cup extra walnut
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive-oil

Preparation:
1.Place peppers in a baking sheet pan, bake in preheated oven at 400 degrees F. for 20 minutes.
2. Transfer peppers immediately when there still hot,in hand blender container, add salt and paprika and blend into smooth mixture,keep aside to cool.
3.In small food processor chop walnuts finely,keep aside.
4. In a medium bowl dish, add breadcrumbs,chopped walnuts prepared mashed hot red pepper paste, lemon juice,Pomegranate Molasses,olive oil,cumin red pepper flakes and mix all together with a spoon.
5.Cover muhammara with a lid and keep in fridge for few hours or overnight until very cold.
6.Spoon muhammara into a dish,garnish with walnuts and before serving drizzle with olive oil .

Tip:
-If you use hot peppers discard the cayenne peppers or taste before adding .
-You can prepare pepper paste ahead of time or overnight cover and keep in fridge.
